Backdating gst registration
Rind the ATO again and ask that is be escaleted with the highest possible priority, then ask for a manager, who can escalate it to an even higher level.
But each time they were very nice, and seemed to be profusely sorry, and promised to fix it within 3 days, and said to ring again if it doesn't happen..... Note where I said I would continue on the basis that it was fixed because the ATO have told you they are processing it and it will be fixed. I'd have thought it was urgent when you were lodging your March BAS or June BAS.
“If we can't backdate a registration more than four years, businesses are not required to pay GST on sales. Different person but same outcome: very polite, apologised, and gave a date of when it would be completed. A lot of swearing and now it's becoming very urgent. The ATO have told you they are processing it and it will go through so its not like you can't continue things on that basis.
